It favours four strategies of intervention: biblical animation, biblical formation, production and dissemination of biblical tools, creation or support of biblical networks. SOCABI was founded in 1940 in Canada, just before the publication of the Encyclical of Pius XII <em>Divino Afflante Spiritu<\/em> (1943) encouraging Catholics to study the Bible with modern methods of research and to disseminate the results.
