In recent days, the Daughters of Saint Paul who belong to the Germany-Poland-Czech Republic delegation have lived a week of immersion in the Word of God in a monastery of Trappist nuns, about 60 km from Prague. They spent seven days of prayer, of listening, and of sharing\u00a0 of the Word. This was done so that the daily commitment to bear witness to the Word may be crossed by the fruitfulness of the New Life of Christ. In the Czech Republic, the Paulines have a publishing house, a bookshop and are very dynamic in spreading the Bible. Their community has the colors of the world bringing with it all the richness that this interweaving of cultures and sensibilities can bring. The countries that comprises them are: Italy, Spain, Mexico, India, and the Czech Republic. Among the most popular authors of the sisters are Silvano Fausti, the Jesuit father who taught entire generations the prayerful reading of the Bible, and Tom\u00e1\u0161 Hal\u00edk, theologian and philosopher born in Prague in 1948, and persecuted as an enemy of the Czechoslovak communist regime. Ordained a priest clandestinely, he has established himself as a leading writer. His books, translated into various languages, and his commitment to human rights and spiritual freedom, have received numerous awards at home and abroad, including in 2014 the prestigious Templeton Prize, a kind of Nobel Prize for religion.
